SkylawSRQ
SkylawSRQ provides an opportunity for those in need of legal services in non-criminal matters to obtain a consultation with a member of The Florida Bar at minimal expense.
Wide Range of Legal Services
SkylawSRQ deals exclusively with civil law, but offers a wide range of services within the field dependent on the expertise of participating attorneys.
Consultations scheduled through SkylawSRQ are designed for legal matters that are short-term and do not require a long-term contract with a lawyer.
One (1) Hour Virtual Consultation: $125
Currently, all legal consultations are one hour and must be scheduled online through this website.
One-hour virtual sessions are held with participating attorneys who can explain statutes and rules of procedures, possible claims and defenses, and discuss the best way forward for clients who elect to take legal action or complete forms without counsel. Other time slots and areas of law may be added in the future as the program develops and grows.
SkylawSRQ is not a pro bono service but consultations are offered at minimal expense. There is no income requirement to participate. Meeting times will be reserved and then confirmed once payment is received. Payments are processed and accepted payment methods are determined by the participating attorney’s office. Full payment must be made before the meeting begins.
LEGAL COUNSEL
Participating Attorneys
Lawyers who participate are members of local bar associations who practice civil law, randomly assigned to consult based on their preferred practice areas. Advice regarding criminal matters cannot be provided by this program. Attorneys cannot answer legal questions involving other state laws.
Lawyers cannot knowingly help both sides of a legal issue or a case. The lawyer or their law firm may be helping the other side and the lawyer answering the client’s question may not know it. If the lawyer or office does know that they are helping the other side of the client’s dispute, they cannot answer questions. In this event, the client’s fee will be refunded or an appointment with another lawyer may be scheduled.
